Yoga & Wellness in Ahangama
The whole back garden is a wellness zone — sunrise flows, recovery sessions, and somewhere quiet to come down after a surf.
The Elephant Hub's entire back yard is given over to wellness: an open-air yoga and wellness deck under the palms, set well back from the bar and the club area, looking out toward the break at Kabalana. It runs on the same rhythm as the surf — sunrise flows before the morning session, and a slower recovery class on Sundays alongside the BBQ brunch. You do not need to be a surfer, and you do not need to have done a class before.
- Sunrise yoga on the deck
- Morning flows on the open-air deck at the back of the property, facing the Kabalana break — the normal way to start the day here, before the first surf.
- Recovery yoga every Sunday
- A slower, restorative session built around tired shoulders and paddled-out backs, paired with the Sunday BBQ brunch.
- A back yard built for it
- The whole rear garden is the wellness zone: shaded, planted, and deliberately kept away from the bar and the club, so it stays quiet even on party nights.
- Made for surfers, open to everyone
- Surf and yoga feed each other — mobility for the paddle, hips and thoracic spine for the pop-up, and breath work that carries straight into a hold-down. None of which stops it being a normal yoga class.
- Mixed level, beginners included
- Sessions are mixed-level and unintimidating. If you have never been to a class, this is a reasonable place to have your first one.
- Open-air yoga and wellness deck in the back garden, shaded and planted
- Sunrise flows, plus Recovery Yoga every Sunday with the BBQ brunch

Yoga in Ahangama and Weligama
Ahangama and Weligama both have a real yoga scene — it grew up alongside the surf, and most people on this stretch of coast end up doing both. Our own deck is in Ahangama on Kabalana Rd, a five-minute walk from Kabalana Beach and roughly twelve minutes from Weligama by tuk-tuk, so it is reachable from either end. If you are after a style or a schedule we do not run, ask anyway: our free travel and knowledge agency covers yoga and wellness exactly like it covers everything else, and we will point you to the right studio or teacher in Ahangama, Weligama, Midigama or Hiriketiya rather than pretend we are the only option on the coast.
